The good old CD is far from being outdated. It is still suited for media requiring a high data throughput, for contents destined for a specific target group, or simply for reaching everybody who does not yet have access to the Internet.
The procedure involved in the production of a CD is very similar to that employed in creating a web site, except for the programming and the duplication; the target group and channels of distribution can, however, be defined more precisely.
Classic fields of CD application are:
- Product and company presentations
- CD-ROM catalogs
- CBT programs (tutorial programs)
- POI / POS systems (information terminals)
- Software distribution
